The Baratza Forte AP and the Forte BG are pretty similar in many respects, AP stands for All Purpose and BG for Brew Grinder. They are the same weight and size but the BG isn’t for you if you’re an espresso drinker, it won’t handle such fine grinding.
AP has flat ceramic burrs, BG has flat stainless steel burrs. With the AP version you can grind by time, weight or manually whereas the BG model allows for either manual or grinding by weight. Both versions have the same touch screen which is easy to navigate. This machine is a great choice for highly consistent espresso. With 3 settings and a manual option for grind duration it’s really quick to grind to your exact specifications.
